Food can be Fashion

Even though I am a student, with little amount of money, I love baking. Mainly cakes or cupcakes. I enjoy drawing out what I want the topping to look like and using sugar paste and icing to create the intricate objects to go on top.

Looking on Google I like to see how different cakes are made and unusual ones. I was not prepared to stumble across an article about a model eating her handbag on a New York Subway. Her bag was a designer Chanel bag, or was it? Actually no it was a chocolate cake made to look exactly the same as a Chanel bag. What seems as though it was leather it actually was quilted-effect icing. The handle and Chanel logo was real.

Michelle Olson and Claudia Silva from the International Culinary Centre based in So-Ho were the makers of this creation.  According to Mail Online it was created to advertise for New York fashion week. Not only is this a fantastic way to advertise New York fashion week, but it is a brilliant way to advertise Chanel and also the International Culinary Centre.

As we know social media is the way forward to advertise now so doing a crazy stunt like this is perfect to draw attention to a particular brand, product etc.

This is living proof that Fashion can involve food.
